Lesson 10
When one-pointedness is established
When, through any of the three means in any order, one-pointedness is established and absorption in void is occuring, then apply Khechari mudra to support the deepening of meditation, and further unfoldments guided by grace.
How to apply Khechari mudra
Roll the tongue back into the mouth and touch the tip of the tongue to the uvula at the back of the mouth, or if possible, reach into the nasal passage touching nerves there.
"Through the Khechari Mudra, touching the tip of the tongue to the uvula, or “little tongue,” (or placing it in the nasal cavity behind the uvula), that divine life-current draws the prana from the senses into the spine and draws it up through the chakras to Vaishnavara (Universal Spirit), uniting the consciousness with spirit.
The entire body is thereby spiritualized and energized. As a result, a perceptible glow may emanate from the body."
—Paramahansa Yogananda
Khechari mudra is not a prerequisite to the practice, but a mudra you can try to see how it works for you. It can truly support the flow of energy and onsetting absorption.
Achieving one-pointedness can be said to be yet another beginning, from which divine grace reveals the way in succession.
In Your Inner Sanctum.
There is not much the individual limited mind can do to control this flowering, more than continue to absorb in the inner peace, and clear what arises as obstacles to know this inherent freedom, fulfillment and bliss.
